Speaking on the impending success of this year’s program, Diddy described his pride over the re-launch saying,

“As the ‘Official Vodka of New Year’s Eve,’ we made a huge impact last year helping New York get home safely, so I’m proud to announce that we’re bringing Safe Rides back in an even bigger way. By bringing this program to both of these great cities we will continue to show the rest of the country that a sophisticated holiday celebration doesn’t end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely.”

Thousands of debit and MTA cards will be given to adults in New York between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

Each debit card will provide up to $15.00 in cab fare and are also redeemable for a one-way subway or bus fare valued at $2.25.

In Las Vegas the cards will be passed out at various locations.

After posting a picture of herself and baby Hank on her twitter page, she wrote: “lil man n i r jammin to some stevie wonder. Hope yall had a great xmas. the best gift i got is in my arms now… how bout u? (sic)”

Kendra revealed she is determined to be a “hot mama” and is already working on getting her pre-pregnancy figure back.

The blonde beauty – who delivered baby Hank by a cesarean section, which means she can’t do any strenuous exercise for six weeks after the birth – said: “I’m going to be a hot mama. The doctor said I can’t exercise until after six weeks but getting up and down in the middle of the night – feeding him, changing him and soothing him when he’s crying – is my ab workout already!”

Motherhood is a good look for her.  Hank Randall Baskett IV is in very good hands.

Why do these athletes do it?

• Sense of self-importance
• Availability of women
• Low self-esteem outside of sports
• Pressure to “Fit in”

It seems to be a ‘fast food sex mentality’ among professional athletes.

It’s not anything we haven’t heard before, about athlete’s sexual exploits, but how wives respond to adultery is what we don’t know.

It seems that wives develop coping strategies over time. Some women are drawn to marry an athlete more for the lifestyle and money rather than for love or the relationship. There are some women who marry the ‘athlete’ more than the ‘man’. They tend to be more accepting of their husbands’ affairs. Not only do they fear losing financial security and the affluent lifestyle, they often possess low self-esteem.
Many women who married before their husbands became professional athletes do not tolerate long-term extramarital affairs, though many were forced to deal with their spouses’ “one-time only” and “one-night stands.” If there is not a strong spiritual base for the marriage an affair can break it apart quickly.

A wife has choices to deal with infidelity. To ignore it, to bring it out in the open and demand it to stop, to seek marriage counseling and use it to make their marriage stronger, some choose to retaliate and have their own affair, or to dissolve the marriage. Some will give the husband the benefit of the doubt, but will use the incident to set a few ground rules. The trust has been broken and the adulterer must work on strengthening that bond.

No matter whatever direction they decide to go, they still continue to manage the family life. The wives are strong, intelligent and resilient. That’s why many of the athletes married them in the first place.

The wife is the support system without which many men could not survive.

Little cutie, Jaden Smith is the next “The Karate Kid“.  He may be a bit too young for the part, but his father, Will Smith thought otherwise. Nepotism at its finest, though.  The exciting actress,Taraji P. Henson, portrays Jaden Smith’s mother in the film.

Jaden Smith plays the bullied kid role, made famous by Ralph Macchio, and Jackie Chan is the mentor who teaches him to fight.

We all grew up loving the original “Karate Kid” and I’m sure people will be lining up to see the new remake of the movie. It premiers June 11, 2010.

Maybe people were sympathetic over Rihanna’s domestic incident.  Her interview on 20/20 was beneficial to many woman in domestic abusive relationships. Unfortunately, this was not the initial purpose of the interview.  Her album was conveniently released that following week of the interview.  Rihanna’s controversial video “Russian Roulette” debuted on prime time television in exchange for her interview.

According to Hip Hop Wired.com:

“As a young woman that has catapulted due to the media frenzy, why not use it as a catalyst to achieve something greater outside of herself?

So, is America dictating their opinion of the actual product or is it being over-saturated with sympathy?”

She never took the domestic abusive situation and used it to reach out to battered women or supported any programs against domestic abuse after the interview. This definitely would have catapulted her into another realm. A humanistic approach with many of her fans who have experienced the same thing.

Right now she is screaming out for attention by posing semi-nude.

Who knows if the voters actually rated her album or her situation.

Larimer County Judge Stephen Schapanski sentenced Richard Heene to 90 days in jail, including 60 days of work release, so he can continue his job as a construction contractor while serving his time. His wife, Mayumi, was sentenced to 20 days in jail.

Mayumi Heene won’t begin her sentence until her husband finishes his jail time, so someone can be home with their children. She also was given four years of supervised probation and must do 120 hours of public service.

Both parents deserve their sentence.  I remember like it was yesterday, I was holding my chest when I thought the little boy was in the balloon. Many mother’s imagined their child in the balloon and panic set in across America. It was a horrifying experience to watch.

The best part of the sentence was the Heene’s not being able to profit from this spectacle for four years.  The judge should forbid them from earning of any money EVER!

The prosecutor is pushing for Richard Heene and his wife, Mayumi, to pay $47,000 in restitution to the various agencies that participated in the search for their young son.

This set a great example for other reality crazy people that want to stage a crazy stunt for their own reality show.

Lou Jing was born, in Shanghai, to a Chinese mother and an African-American father. Her mother met Jing’s father while she was in college. He left China before their daughter was born. Jing was raised by traditional Chinese values, not knowing anything else but her Chinese heritage.

But when your own country, tells you to “Go home“, or even worse “Never should have been born“ what do you do?  She is HOME! China is all she knows.  We are in the 21st century and still have to deal with racism across the globe by a country that supposedly invests heavily in their higher education systems.

His financee, Loleini Tonga spoke at the funeral and vowed to take care of his children the way he would have wanted:

“Can’t nobody know the way I’m feeling right now. No one can explain the relationship that me and Chris had. In six years of knowing each other — through hard times, good times — we loved each other very much,” she said. “People say I helped change his life. No. He changed mine.”

A couple of close friends and teammates also spoke about their love and friendship of Chris Henry.

Cincinnati quarterback Carson Palmer and head coach Marvin Lewis delivered eulogies. Lewis said before the service that Henry touched a lot of people in his very short life.

“It’s a bright story and one that didn’t get to get all the way to the end of it, which is the most unfortunate part,” the coach said. “We’ll miss Chris’ sparkling smile.”

Palmer made some chuckle as he remembered Henry’s friendly demeanor.

“He walked past my locker every day to shake my hand as I said, ‘Good morning,’ and every day he said, ‘What’s up, cuz,’” Palmer said. “We’ve all seen and experienced different sides of Chris, and with every side he showed us, we saw just how kind and gentle his heart was.”

Henry grew up in the small, suburban community of Belle Chasse, not far from the funeral site. Shane Shelley, 26, was Henry’s high school quarterback when they made it to the state title game in 2001, their senior year.

“We really lost a good friend, a brother, one of my best friends,” said a watery-eyed Shelley. “It’s hard. We lost one of us. We’re going to miss him. We love him.”

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer:

“Henry’s organs and cornea were donated to needy patients following his death”.

May he rest in peace.

Henry, a wide receiver drafted in the third round out of  West Virginia University in 2005, signed a five-year contract for about $6 million. The contract included annual salaries plus playing-time and other incentives. Chris Henry made 2.5 million as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals and was declared bankrupt by his attorney.

Henry’s $360,000 Florence house, purchased in 2005 during his rookie year, was auctioned in May 2008 when he failed to pay the mortgage. Henry’s SUV was repossessed in 2008 while he was in court.

When the Bengals re-signed him in 2008, they began to manage his money.

I don’t see anything wrong with this at all. Given that he made an impressive choice, I’m sure he has enough to leave behind to his family. For the athletes who don’t know how to manage their money, they should take heed and do the same.
