For those of you who love Carrie in “Sex in the City”, meet Sandra “Pepa” Denton of the infamous rap group, Salt -N- Pepa. Carrie was just a character on the HBO show. Pepa is the real deal on a new VH1 show “Let’s Talk about Pep”. The show revolves around Pepa’s decision to be celibate for fthe past four years. In her 2008 memoir (also called Let’s Talk About Pep), she writes:
“I decided to shut it completely down and be celibate. It was time. I had to learn how to love myself. And I had to be that woman that could attract that man who would deserve to be with me.
The way people go on these fasts to cleanse their bodies of toxins, I decided to fast from sex, to clean my spirit from another kind of toxin.
…I have been on the not-so-special side too often. I have given myself away for cheap too many times. I can remember sitting there at dinner thinking, ‘What will I have to do for all of this?’ As if I didn’t deserve a free meal!”
Now she’s ready again to search for love and romane in New York. In her reality show she is joined by three attractive, single friends.
Joumana Kids is a Sports Journalist and Model. She was recently divorced from NBA basketball star, Jason Kidd. She is dating once again and seems to be very happy in her single life.
Kali Troy a.k.a “Kittie” is the wild one of the bunch. Kittie is a voice over artist and spent many years in LA working for BET. She is looking for a man that can handle her feisty side.
Jaque Reid is a news journalist and TV personality. Jacque is presently the co-host of the DL Hughley Morning Show on New York’s 98.7 KISS FM radio.
