Here are some tips to help you recognize your true significance in life for 2010:
Identify your passion. Your passion reveals your true significance in life. There is a void in the world that we were sent to fill. Pay attention to your passion. Embrace it. Pursue it. It is the key to your happiness.
Affirm yourself daily. Make a list of your talents and gifts. Everything you need to survive already lives within you. Tell yourself this every day, when you wake up, before you get out of the car and go into work, on your lunch break, on your way home, and at night before you go to bed.
Establish goals for yourself.Decide what you want from your life. Do you want to buy a house, a new car, better relationship to your kids, get a raise from work, get a college degree, or go back to school to finish your degree? Where do you want to be in 1 year? Five years? Ten years? Twenty-five years? Don’t just think these things in your head, you have to write a plan and determine how to accomplish it with action steps that are realistic to ensure your success.
Read inspirational and/or self development materials daily. It is important to nurture our minds and our spirits daily. Read materials that will keep you uplifted and focused. This will continue to motivate you to pursue your dreams and goals. I recommend “In the spirit” by Susan Taylor, former editor of Essence magazine. This book inspired me to be greater than great.
Take a class. We should always be open to learning new things. This allows our mind to grow, while keeping us young at heart. It can be any type of class. Be open to new things. You may find opportunities to share your passion and talents in places that you least expect. You may meet someone who can help you achieve your goals.
Meditate daily. Spend time in quiet. Wake up an extra hour early if you have kids to have that time to yourself. On your lunch break, do it in the car for 15 minutes. This allows us to become more centered. Reflect on your goals and affirm yourself during this time as well.
Journal daily. Take time to write your thoughts, dreams, passion, affirmations, and goals daily. When we put these things on paper it almost forces them to manifest. It becomes a contract with you.
Find a Mentor. Find someone who is successfully doing the exactly what it is you want to do. Make contact with them. Become their friend and/or protégé. Learn from the best. Learn how they became successful by asking for their “plan of action” as well as learning about their failures. When you do this, you are asking all the RIGHT questions to get you through your journey.
Find an accountability partner. This is a like-minded individual who is on the same path as you. This person will help you stay focused, and you will do the same for them. “Birds of a feather flock together”. Join a meet up group at meetup.org. You can choose you city and what interest you. You will definitely network and meet like-minded individuals in a group setting.
Pray.Pray for direction, pray for strength. Pray for confidence. Pray for the right friends and mentors. Pray for everything. There is power is a prayer.
Our minds are so much bigger than we know possible. We just have to connect with. Good luck in 2010!
