UCONN Girls 71 in a row! Believe it!
It is so awesome to hear about a team who has broken a legendary record, but it is more special when it is a women’s basketball team who displays such teamwork. The University of Connecticut womens basketball team broke their own record set in 2003. They have 71 consecutive wins and won all of their games this year by double digits.
After their win against Notre Dame yesterday, they showed nothing but class. They didn’t gloat in their opponents face, they just shook hands and returned to the locker room. It was just another day in the gym.
Auriemma is a legend in NCAA women’s basketball. He has recruited the best and won throughout his career. He has two of the best, if not the best players in the country, Tina Charles and Maya Moore. Both of these young women play hard and play team ball.
I was lucky enough to see Maya Moore play locally here in high school . Her high school , Collins Hill, is only a few miles away. She was the most athletic yet graceful athlete I have ever seen. Her work ethic on and off the court was amazing even as a young teenager. It is a testament to her mother and coaches she was surrounded by. I am thrilled to see her and the rest of the UConn team achieve such success.
