CBS is debating if they are going to air Tim Tebow’s ad that is being sponsored by the conservative religious group, Focus on the Family. In the ad, Tebow’s mother states that she chose not to abort Tim although she was advised to do so for medical reasons. Why now? Tim Tebow is really hurting his marketing chances.
Another controversial ad that CBS was considering was an ad for a gay men internet dating service called, Mancrunch.com. They have declined to accept the advertising dollars for this ad.
I believe that the Super Bowl should not be where we have to watch judgmental opinion. Super Bowl ads have been known to strike up water cooler conversation not a demonstration. I should not have to have an in depth conversation with my children as to what a particular commercial meant during the Super Bowl. We should be laughing at all of the creative ads the Super Bowl is known for.
CBS needs to rethink their advertising stance. I want a good football game, wings and pizza, and some funny commercials.
