Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints and Saints fans all over the world!!!!!!!!
I have to admit, prior to the game,I was pretty unbiased about who the 2010 Super Bowl Champion should be. I had an allegiance to both teams. The Saints are the team where my “ProWife” experience began and the Colts are the team where it ended.
I found myself cheering on both teams through the evening. I could feel the passion of the Saints and their fans. On the other hand, you could see the professionalism of Peyton Manning and his team. He remained so focused, as he always does, until the the interception that sealed the game in the 4th quarter.
Moving to New Orleans as young woman, with her husband, was a new experience. I learned things about the New Orleans culture, food, politics, and the people that one would never know unless you lived there. I met great people, some who became like family members to us. The fans truly love their team and with all of the adversity that the city has gone through, you just want to see a positive light shine on the city. Things have changed since we lived there, but the “Who Dat” tradition hasn’t.
“Who dat, who dat, who dat sayin’ they going to beat them Saints? Who Dat?”, can be heard over and over again amongst the fans of the Saints. I remember when my former husband, Craig “Iron Head” Heyward received his first, of many, “Who Dat” hat for being player of the game. It was a big deal getting one of those hats.
When Craig was diagnosed with his brain tumor in 1998 he was playing for the Colts and Jim Mora. Ironically, Coach Mora was the same coach he began with at the New Orleans Saints. Both had changed as men. Craig had matured as a man, and Coach Mora had quieted his temper. The Indianapolis Colts helped our family tremendously during that difficult time. I really respect and appreciate their organization.
The 2010 Super Bowl was truly exciting. Football fans all over the world received a great game. Thanks to both Drew Brees and Peyton Manning, for putting on a quarterback clinic. The Saints and Colts played their hearts out last night.
